Dr. Thomas Jefferys

Dr. Thomas Jefferys, PhD, Founder and Program Director, has concentrated his work and career towards assisting men to be more in touch with their inner conflicts. His professional work centers on therapeutic solutions for three core issues in men—Anger, Guilt, and Shame—and uncovering the base causes of these all-encompassing conditions. Tom has earned a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy as well as a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling. He is also working on the final chapters of his book “The Emotional Crippling of American Men. Facing the Psychological Spiral of Anger, Guilt and Shame”. He has also written several papers on the Myth of the Male, the Masculine Archetypal Pattern, and the importance of Rituals in the Male experience.

Dr. Tom has worked with men through all aspects of treatment. His passions and life’s work align, which led him to create “A Bridge to Recovery,” drawn from myths, metaphors, and the Hero’s Journey. Dr. Tom utilizes time-proven methods, as well as innovative evidence-based treatments, shared with compassion to assist men in finding the tools to befriend themselves again in an honest and genuine manner.

Dr. Laura Maneates

Dr. Laura Maneates, PhD, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist with a specialization in addiction, trauma, and dual diagnosis. She provides therapy at Rippling Waters Men’s Retreat and Recovery Center, focusing on anger, addiction, trauma, grief, and more. Dr. Laura’s approach is holistic and integrative, utilizing Depth Psychology to explore the unconscious psyche and soul. She is also an Equine Therapist, Life Coach, EFT Certified, and CASAC-T. Her therapeutic focus includes trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, toxic shame, anger, and relationship issues, aiming for personal transformation. She integrates neuroscience psychoeducation and positive psychology, emphasizing mind, body, and spirit.

Dr. Laura authored “Revisioning Addiction Through the Excavation of Soul,” inspired by her extensive work in the addiction field.
